Again our hearts were made sad when the news reached us of the death of our dear niece Alma McDowell, the adopted daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Lancaster.
Alma was born January 20. 1903, died May 1915. She was of a sweet disposition, kind and loving to everyone. She loved Cousin Pearl and Ella almost like pappa and mamma and was ready at all times to obey them. How hard it is for them to give her up they loved her, and she did not lack for anything. They did all in their power to stay theicy hand of death, but to no avail. She has gone to live with her dear pappa and mamma who preceded her a few years ago.
Alma was the daughter of John Thomas and Willie Eudora Childres McDowell. She was raised by Hiram Pearl and Ella Fuller Lancaster.
