From "Fort Collins Weekly Courier" January 11, 1900 p. 2 col. 3.
"Died"
"MYERS" On Friday, December 29, 1899 at the family residence on Smith street, this city, of consumption, Mrs. Sara Myers, wife of Dr. J. Myers, aged 61 years 7 months.
Dr. Myers and family came to Fort Collins about five months ago from Clark county, Missouri, especially for the benefit of Mrs. Myers' health, which had become much impaired from the effects of a severe attack of the grippe. For a time the change seemed to benefit her, but the disease had become too deeply seated to be permanently cured, and about the first of December she began to grow worse. She kept growing weaker and weaker until on the date stated the summons came. The body was taken back by Dr. Myers to their former home in Missouri for interment, the doctor returning to Fort Collins last Monday.
Mrs. Myers is very kindly spoken of by those enjoying her acquaintances. Of immediate relatives she leaves surviving a husband, and nine children, all grown, and five of whom are married."
