Andrew Basham, 72, of Ghent went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, following a short illness.

Born Feb. 21, 1933, in Summers County, he was the son of the late Albert Basham and Lena Oakley Lilly-Basham.

He was a member of the Bluestone Primitive Baptist Church at Ellison.

Andrew was a true blessing to his family and always full of love and willing to give a helping hand. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Basham.

Survivors include a sister, Imogene Basham-Cox and her husband Luther of Ghent, and two brothers, Cecil Basham and his wife Amalee of Harlan, Ind., and James Basham and his wife Irene of Richmond, Va.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Elder Bobby Hawks officiating. Burial will follow in the Tom Lilly Cemetery at Ghent.
