Morris Grossman (1873-1969) was the son of Novtullah (Nathan) Grossman and his wife Chia (Ellen) Grossman. Morris was born in the village of Tisza-Derzs, in what was then the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and in 1888 came to America with his family.

He was the brother of Henry Grossman of Chicago, Illinois, and later Brooklyn, New York; Jacob Grossman, also of Scranton, Pennsylvania, and who ran a feed store in that city; David Grossman, a restauranteur who lived in California, and Kate Grossman Lehrman, of Chicago, Illinois, and later Los Angeles, California.

Morris lived to be 96 years old, having apparently lived for the last 83 years of his life in Scranton, in the Jewish area of the city known as The Flats.

He was the father, with his wife, Pauline (née Weissberger) Grossman (1879-1955), of:

Albert Grossman (1912-1989)
Ruth Grossman Mendlovits (1900-1979)
Esther Grossman Schwab (1908-1991)
Edward Grossman (1905-1983)
Evelyn Grossman Henry (1917-1997)
Jacob "Jack" Grossman (1919- )
John Grossman (1920-?)
