Michael dedicated his life to Christ at Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Matthews, NC at an early age, always putting his faith first as he interacted with everyone he came in contact with. Michael's smile permeated any room that he occupied.
As a servant of God he took his Christian experience and faith to Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC after his marriage to Pamela on June 23, 1984.
Michael leaves his wife, Pamela B. Wentz of Union County, NC; children, Marcola Bennett and Kyron Ingram, both of Charlotte, NC, Lindon and Joyce Wentz; his parents of Charlotte; his sisters, Brenda McClure (Robert), Donna Marie Wentz and Angela Denise Wentz, of Charlotte and Claretha Lawrence (Melvin), Sylvia Armstrong (Charles) of Concord, NC; his brothers, Ronnie Lee Wentz (Brenda), Ricky Dwight Wentz (Diedra), Lafayette Simon Wentz of Charlotte, NC; two grandchildren, Tamura and Hunter both of Charlotte, NC; Michael's very special cousin, Earl McClelland, affectionately called, 'Tob and/or Jake' and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.
The home going celebration will be held at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 3400 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, NC with the quiet hour at 11am on Friday and the funeral service at 12 noon. The interment will follow at Beatties Ford Memorial Garden.
