Mr. Pedro "Pete" Arias, 77, of Lockhart, passed away Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008.

He was born on Jan. 18, 1931. Mr. Arias was a member of the La Catedral de San Fernando in San Antonio, Texas, for many years.

Mr. Arias was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Lopez Arias.

He is survived by his children: Phillip Lopez (Carmina) and Ernest Arias (Rachel), of San Antonio; Elizabeth Ramirez (Oscar P.), of McAllen; Tom Arias (Romy) of Niederwald; Elaine Garcia (Eulalio) of Austin; and Sylvia Reyna (Angel) of Gonzales; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three step-children.

Recitation of the rosary was at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the DeLeon Funeral Home.

Funeral mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Christopher John Rodriguez, Emmanuel Navarro, Hector Hernandez, Jonathan Ochua, Delfino Truitt, and LeRoy Penuelaz.

The honorary pallbearer is Oscar Lee Ramirez.

Arrangements under the care and direction of the DeLeon Funeral Home, 110 Cedar St., Lockhart, Texas.
