S. Victor Spurlock, born April 17, 1918 to John and Martha Spurlock in Downsville, Louisiana, passed away December 7, 2002 in Kingwood, Texas at the age of 84. Mr. Spurlock served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a past member of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church in Houston. A resident of Kingwood for 28 years, he was currently a member of Kingwood United Methodist Church, where he was active in the Society of St. Stephen. Vic held a number of offices in both congregations and served on the Board of Directors of Methodist Retirement Communities. Vic was also a member of the Men's Golf Association at Kingwood Country Club. After a 36 year career in employee relations with Exxon Company U.S.A., Mr. Spurlock retired in 1982 and in 1983 he organized and served as first president of Exxon Annuitant Club of Lake Houston. He is survived by his wife Juanita, daughter, son, grandchildren, sister Linnie Roberson of Downsville, LA, many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2002 at Kingwood United Methodist Church, 1799 Woodland Hills Dr. with the Rev. Joe W. Fort, Jr. officiating.
