WORRY OVER SON CAUSES DEATH OF MOTHER
Mrs. Susannah Fabun Teeters, Aged Pioneer, Has Passed Beyond
Worry over the condition of her son, Russ Fabun who is ill at the Ramona hospital from knife wounds inflicted by Robert Oleson nearly two weeks ago, coupled with sickness, last night caused the death of one of the best known pioneers of San Bernardino valley, Mrs. Susannah Fabun Teeters, who passed away at her home at 1609 Kingman avenue.
Mrs. Teeters was the daughter of "Uncle Jack" Harris, the driver of the first wagon of pioneers to enter the San Bernardino valley. She came to San Bernardino in 1851 and was a prominent resident among the people who help make, more than anyone else, San Bernardino valley, what it is today.
The decedent was born in Harris Plains, Michigan, and was 77 years old. When she was but a small child, her parents decided to join the rushing army in the fortune hunt in California, and crossed the plains in a wagon drawn by an ox team. The family, as did many others, decided to make their home here.
She had been slightly ill and in failing health for some time, but the shock that her son was near death completely unnerved her and although he is improving, Mrs. Teeters weekend rapidly and last night passed into the great beyond.
She is survived by four children, Mrs. Della Faros of Santa Monica, Russell A. Fabun of this city, and Daniel E. Fabun and Mrs. Elsie T. Harris of Los Angeles.
The funeral service is to be held at the Mary (Mark) B. Shaw parlors Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The pioneer society, an organization of which the deceased was an honored member, will have charge of the last service. Interment will be in the Pioneer cemetery.
