B. L. "Barb" Bland, 82, of Shawnee, passed away Friday, January 3, 1997 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Mr. Bland was born on July 30, 1914 to George and Alice Bland.
He was retired from Tinker Air Force Base. He married Ilene Williams in 1935 in Shawnee and they were members of the Northwest Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Ilene Bland; a son and spouse Quinlon; and Judy Bland, two daughters and spouses, Tonya and Cliff Powell and Sonya and Lloyd Jackson and a grandson, Jeff Bland. He is also survived by five step-grandchildren, eleven step-great grandchildren and two brothers, Calvin and Irvin Bland. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son Darrell, a grandson, four brothers and three sisters.
Services will be Tuesday 10:00 a.m., January 7, 1997 at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel in Shawnee, with interment following in Garden Grove Cemetery.
