Found Dead
(abstracted from article)
He was found by some neighbors after they became aware that he had not been seen for several days. They looked through the window and saw him on the bed. He was partially covered by a coat, and had a gun in his hand. There was a bullet hole in the center of his chest. His pockets were turned inside out, and they assumed he had been murdered. He had previously been robbed and beaten several times.

When he had been robbed two weeks ago, the culprits had been found because they got drunk and talked about it while shooting craps at Scammon. They wanted others to go back with them to get more. One man was said to have left for Illinois; one a son of a citizen of Cherokee; the last a Scammon man.

Allison's Will

He left the following people 12-42 of his real estate and personal property and effects: Rachel Baird, Cherokee county, his niece; John Allison, Miami county, his brother; Wm. V. Berry, his nephew; Orie C. Berry, of Cherokee.
Isaac Hamlin of Paola, Kansas was named executor of the will. It had been written August 12, 1893.
