He came west with his parents in 1869, settling at Springdale, Kansas. In 1870 he was married to Miss Ettie Vandruff. To this union were born five children.
About 15 years ago he went to Saskatchewan, Canada, homesteading land there; returning to the states in the spring of 1925.
In November of the same year his wife died. He is survived by his three sons, Elliott of southwest Missouri, Ezra of Canada, and E. Wesley, of Coffeyville, Kansas; also one daughter, Mrs. Estella Jordan, of Jordan River, Canada. His youngest daughter, Mrs. Edith Chase died near Cimmaron, Kansas June 25, 1914.
