Son of Luther and Cleo Cole.He lived in Winston area since the early 1840's. He had lots of land and 1/3 of it went to Berdine, 1/3 to his wife Louvisa, 1/3 to the rest of the family at his death. He was an active member of the community and at one time was a member of the Agricultural and Mechanical Association of Daviess County of which the James Brothers were said to have robbed. The Association later became the Grand River Agricultural Horticultural and Mechanical Association of Jamesport, Missouri of which all members of the county were a member of. In 1872 he was the collector for taxes for Jefferson Township.
He married Louisa Creason on 22 Jun 1848. They had Berdine, Fayette, Charles, Tolevia, Mehitable, James Lum and George Cole. Charles and Fayette moved to Wyoming. Tolevia and Mehitable moved to Colorado. The others stayed in Missouri or moved to Oklahoma.
