Leon Grady Berzett, passed away Saturday, March 18th at 7:30 a rn. Mr. Berzett would have been 59 July 5th. Death resulted from a heart attack. Funeral services for Mr. Berzett, who lived on Athens route I, were held at
Ephesus Church of Christ, Sunday, March 19, at 3 o’clock. Brothers Rollings and Kuykendall officiating, McConnell Funeral Home directing, Almand in charge of flowers, burial in Athens Cemetery.
Mr. Berzett is survived by his wife, the former Sue Eddins; 4 sons, Leon of Birmingham ; Harold, Jack, Bill of Athens; three sisters. Mrs. John Todd, Athens, Mrs. Mary Morrell, Chattanooga; Mrs. Harold Eddleman, Shelbyville, Tenn.; one brother, William of Athens and five grand children. Mr. Berzett was a m ember of the Church of Christ for 20 years. Active pallbearers w ere J. H. Vesell, Hartselle Wales, Willie Young, Carl Young, James Arnett, Fred Ferguson. Honorary pallbearers were John Todd, Fred E vans, Gilbert Black, Roy Magnusson, Carl Leake, Guy Young, Max Shipp and George Lowery.
