Ida M. Polhemus of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. , died Wednesdsay, Aug. 9, at Port St. Lucie, Fla. She was 86.
She was born July 27, 1909, in Spring Valley to Frank and Catherine Smith Schultz.

She lived in Rockland for 61 years. In 1969, she moved to Whallonsburg, NY, where she lived on a farm until five years ago when she moved to Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
Mrs. Polhemus was an executive secretary at Lederle Laboratories in Pearl River for 20 years until her retirement in 1969.

She was married to Calvin Polhemus, who died Jan. 29, 1990.

She is survived by a son, Calvin Polhemus, Jr., of New City; a daughter, Marjorie Ovsiovitch of Palm Beach Gardens; a brother, David Schultz of New City; two sisters, Helen Moon of Spring Valley and Tillie Polhemus of Lewis; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday at Higgins Funeral Home, 321 S. Main St. , New City. Burial will follow at Germonds Cemetery, New City.

Calling hours are 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm tomorrow at the funeral home.
