Detroit – Alton Bertwell Reynolds Sr., 86, of Route 220, died Thursday, 24 December 1992, at a Bangor hospital. He was born October 7, 1906, in Unity, son of George Dana and Myrtle Mae (Mitchell) Reynolds.

He was a self-employed truck driver for many years. At the time of his retirement, he was a truck driver for Lee Brothers.

He was a member of the Carmel Full Gospel Church, a former road commissioner in Unity, a charter member of the Unity Volunteer Fire Department, and was an avid gardener.

Two daughters, Barbara Chadwick and Mildred Sprague, one grandson, Royce Sprague Jr., and a great-grandson, Eric Chadwick, all died previously.

Survivors include four sons, Alton Reynolds Jr. of Unity, Donald Reynolds of St. Albans, Forest Reynolds of Traverse City, Mich., and Randy Reynolds of Unity; two step-daughters, Leta Pomeroy of Bangor and Sybell "Ethel" Maloon of Vernon Center, Conn.; one sister, Gertrude Bacon of Waterville; 22 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel, 35 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. Interment will be in the Pond Cemetery, Unity.
