CLARKSBURG - Joseph J. Ayoob, 73, of 317 Capitol St., Clarksburg died at 8:30 p.m. Friday evening, May 30, 2003, at his residence under the care of Hospice.
He was born April 5, 1930, at St. Mary's Hospital in Clarksburg, a son of the late Nemar Ayoob and Mary Herrick Ayoob. He worked at Eagle Convec Glass Co. for 46 years and served as president of their local union. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps stationed in Cuba. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was a graduate of R-W High School.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Victoria Caroli Ayoob of the home; one son, Perry J. Ayoob and his wife Mary Jane of Charleston, W.Va.; two daughters, Trina Jo McKiernan and her husband Dan of Parkersburg and Cathy A. Ayoob of Glen Burnie, Md.; five grandchildren, Jared and Lauren McKiernan of Parkersburg and Zachary, Alexandra and Matthew Ayoob of Charleston; and one sister, Elizabeth Ayoob of Clarksburg.
Preceding him in death were three brothers, John and Tom Ayoob of Clarksburg and George Ayoob of Michigan; and seven sisters, Ann Ayoob, Julia Salfia, Emily Poe and Thelma Boldyga, all of Clarksburg, and Rose Herrick, Adele Herrick and Louise Marsh, all of Detroit, Mich.
A mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Timothy Grassi as celebrant. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives from 7-9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday at Bartolo Funeral Home, downtown Clarksburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to Peoples Hospice or the Immaculate Conception Church building fund
