Mr. Tom Key was the son of Ammie Key of Eatonton, GA. He was predecesed by his loving grandmother, Rachel Key Mathis in August 1976. Tom is a graduate of Butler Baker High School, in Putnam County, Georgia. Survivors included his mother; brothers, Willie Key, David Key and Robert Key, all of Eatonton, GA; his sister, Mrs. Lizzie Mae Phelps, Lawndale, North Carolina; sisters-in-law, Lottie Ruth Key and Barbara Key, both of Eatonton, Georgia; great aunts, Lillie Key of Eatonton, GA and Frances Thomas of Vale, NC; great uncle, Willie Key of Cleveland, Ohio; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and devoted friends Jeffery Knowles and Eugene Resseau.
Tom was a kind man with an easy going spirit. He is certainly missed. Homegoing services were held on Sunday, November 18, 1980, at the Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Eatonton, GA, with the Rev. C. L. Walton officiating. God bless you, cousin Tom.
