DIED - In Byefield, Mass., on the 27th ult., Mrs. Catharine Cleaveland, aged 29, wife of Jeremiah Cleaveland, Esq., of Brooklyn, N.Y. Mrs. C had been for some time in a declining state of health, when, on a visit to her relatives at Byefield, she ws prostrated by her disease, and soon fell a victim to its ravages. Mrs. C. was a native of this town [Amherst NH], and daughter of the late Col. David M'G. Means. Her remains were brought here on Monday last, and deposited in the family vault. Her early life was spent here, till by the death of the parents, the family were broken up, and scattered abroad. But the ties of association and friendship, formed in her school days, with the youth of this village, will render her memory endeared and beloved by them, in the recollection of her amiable, complacent, and agreeable demeanor, and kind, companionable disposition. Her many relatives and friends mourn deeply her early departure. Mrs. C. early in life made a profession of the religion of Jesus, and died in full faith in the Christian hope of his mediation and redemption. [The Farmers' Cabinet, 3 Sep 1846, page 3]
