He had been a long time resident of Reliance.
Quinton was born Jan. 24, 1920, in Quinton, Okla., the son of the late James and Nellie Floyd Quinton, and he attended school in Oklahoma.
He married the former Delma Cooper in Green River in August of 1946, and she preceded him in death Dec. 24, 1994.
Quinton was employed as a carpenter for the Carpenter's Union No. 1564.
He was a member of New Life Ministries.
His interests were hunting and fishing and hanging out at Wal-Mart and his churches.
Survivors include two sons James R. Adams of Oakdale, Calif., and Dean Quinton and wife Jan of Rock Springs; one brother Willis Quinton of Quinton, Okla.; four sisters, Hazel Soden, Myrtle Mann, Lovica Blackwood, all of McCallester, Okla., and Ethel Ashmore of Sallisaw, Okla.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Delma; daughter Betty Jo Hendrix; two sons Earl Adams and James Quinton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at the New Life Ministries, 105 "K" Street in Rock Springs. Pastor John Ratcliff will conduct the service.
Interment will be in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Rock Springs.
Friends may call at the Vase Funeral Chapel from 4 - 8 p.m. today and again at the church on Thursday morning until time of services.
The family of James Quinton will be receiving relatives and friends at the home of Dean and Jan Quinton, 365 "H" Street in Rock Springs.
