Laban H. Haverstock, 75, a lifelong resident of the town of Massena,
died at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon, Nov. 6, 1949, at his home at Racket River.
Mr. Haverstock had been in failing health for the past year and
confined to his bed since September.
He was born June 10, 1874, near Massena Center, a son of Edmund and Polley Benjamin Haverstock. He attended district schools and married Miss Ethel Chase Sept 12, 1910. They have since resided on a farm at Racket River.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Charles and George Haverstock,
Massena; one daughter, Miss Marthella Haverstock, at home; two
brothers, Fred of Boston and Laban of White River Junction, Vt.;
two sisters, Miss Janie Haverstock and Mrs. Mary Polley, both of Ogdensburg; three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at the home at 2 o'clock Tuesday
afternoon and burial will be made in the Nevin Cemetery. The
Rev. Murlin Day, Norfolk, will officiate.
