Carol Johnson Hatch,age 60,passed away on Sunday, January 20th,1980 in the University Hospital in Salt Lake City,Utah, due to Cancer.Carol was born on January 22,1919 in Nampa,Idaho to the parents of Arnold Erastus and Lavina Adamso Johnson.
Carol graduated from Kuna High School in Boise,Idaho and from the University of Idaho.She recieved advanced training at the University of Washington and Brigham Young University in Provo,Utah.Carol taught School in Idaho,Washington and Utah.
Carol Married Vedell Lenard Hatch from Orem,Utah on September 2nd,1960 in the Salt Lake City Temple.She became an instant mother to three children,Jay,Jerald and Rosetta Hatch;children from Vedell's first marriage.On April 3rd,1962 Carol and Vedell were blessed with a son whom they named Charles Dee Hatch.
Carol worked for the Alpine School District since 1962 in the Media Center of Pleasant Grove Junior High School.She served a Mission for the LDS Church in Northern
California and was Cultural refinement teacher in the Relief Society.She held many Stake and Ward positions in the LDS Church.
Carol is survived by husband Vedell,son Charles Dee Hatch Orem,step-children Rosetta Ruby Hatch Orem,Jerald I. Hatch(Shauna) Lindon,Jay V.Hatch (Pat),Salt Lake City,eight Grandchildren,Mother Lavina Johnson Orem.Two brothers and two sisters.E.T. Johnson,Farmington,Utah,Charles A Johnson,Glennis Wells both of Napa Idaho,and Joan Glen(Jack),Red Bluff ,California.
Funeral Services were held on Thursday ,January 24th,1980 at 10 AM in the Orem 40th Ward Chapel,50 South 800 East in Orem.Friends and family called at the Sundberg Olpin
Mortuary ,495 South State Street in Orem,Wednesday from 7 to 9PM, and at the Ward Chapel prior to Services.Burial took place in the Koosharem Cemetery,Sevior County, around 4PM.
