Margie Donaldson, 76, passed peacefully from this life at her home in Tye on Saturday, May 8, 2004. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Margie was born May 18, 1927 to the late Ira and Buena (Abbott) Kimmey. She lived all her life in Tye. She attended Tye Elementary, Lincoln Jr. High, and graduated from Abilene High School in 1944.
Margie worked hard to support her four children by selling Avon, doing bookkeeping for various businesses, and was employed over the years by the Dash-In, Rister's Superette, Tye Grocery, and Wes-T-Go. She was an avid reader and expert crossword puzzle solver. She loved to make Christmas crafts for the enjoyment of family and friends.
She is now with loved ones that preceded her in death, her parents, a brother, Jimmy D. Kimmey, and a grandson, Greg Goodgion.
Margie will be remembered and missed by her son, Michael Donaldson, and wife Mary, of Tye; her daughter, Luanne Goodgion, and husband LeRoy, of Tye; her son, Steven Donaldson, and wife Jacqueline, of San Antonio; her daughter, Susan Donaldson of Tye; her grandchildren, Michelle Blessing, and husband Bill, Lisa Calvert, and husband Marty, Clay Donaldson, and wife Keleigh; her great grandchildren, Alex Cerda, Aaron Cerda, Anthony Blessing, Katie Calvert, and Michael Calvert.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at the Tye Cemetery with David Stevens officiating, under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 North Second Street.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Tye Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 157, Tye, TX 79563.
