Rutland Record, March 18, 1909, page: 1, column: 4.
One by one the older residents of this vicinity are passing away. From time to time another is summoned to lay down the cares of life and enter upon his eternal reward. On Monday afternoon another of our aged residents, Mrs. William Frink, received this summons at her house in Rutland and passed to the great beyond.
MARGARET MCALLISTER was born in North Fayston, Vt., Dec. 13, 1830 (ACTUALLY IN 1829; SEE ABOVE.). She was married on Nov. 10, 1850 to Mr. S. William Frink at Moretown (ACTUALLY FAYSTON), Vt. In 1855 they removed to Ogle county, Illinois, and later, in 1859, to Woodford county in the same state. Here they lived near Metamora until 1869 when they came to Rutland where they both resided the remainder of their days, Mr. Frink having passed away two years ago, or on Feb. 21, 1907.
To Mr. and Mrs. Frink were born three children, namely: Mrs. Jeanette Proctor and Leonard R. Frink of Rutland, and Mrs. Amelia J. Kingore of Pontiac, Ill., all of whom remained to care for in her last illness and mourn the departure of a fond and loving mother.
About four weeks ago, Mrs. Frink became bedfast from Bright's disease, which up to that time had not troubled. her. Three weeks later she was taken with pneumonia but was recovering from that trouble when, on Friday last, she suffered a stroke of paralysis that affected her right side,. She never became conscious after the stroke and death came to relieve her suffering on Monday, March 15, 1909, at the age of 78 years (ACTUALLY 79 YEARS), 3 months and 2 days.
Besides the children mentioned above, the deceased leaves one granddaughter, Miss Edna Proctor of Rutland, Ill., and also one sister Mrs. Hannah Bruce of Moretown, Vt. For over forty years Mrs. Frink was a member of the Advent Christian Church and ever lived a life consistent with the faith she professed. She was of rugged Scotch descent and her life would doubtless have been spared many months longer had paralysis not set in to weaken her in her already afflicted condition.
Mrs. Frink has been a long and respected resident of this locality. Her constant fidelity to her home and its duties naturally gave less opportunity for extended efforts in other directions, and many may thus have failed to make her intimate acquaintance, or duly recognize her great faithfulness in the performance of her duties, as wife and mother, which were at all times her happiest service. Nevertheless, she will be missed by no small circle of friend and neighbors who will long mourn her loss and continue to lend their sympathy to the many relatives and friends who survive.
The funeral services were held at the Christian church yesterday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. B. Forester, pastor of the Advent Church at Mendota being in charge, assisted by Rev. E. J. Nickerson, pastor of the Christian Church. Interment was made in the Rutland cemetery.
