Edward was 7th child born to Caroline Fredericka Peters & Christoph Wilhelm Aupperle. Born on a farm in Casey, IA where he spent most of his childhood.
He lived with his parents & 2 younger siblings when the family moved from IA to CA in 1929. After the passing of his father, he lived with his mother until he married Maxine Bohnert & began a family.
I remember Uncle Ed was a good natured and loving person.
Here is what his sister Hilda wrote about him: "ED--good brother--proudly served in Navy in WWII at age 39--had close relationship with his mother--enjoyed pancakes for breakfast--accepted CHRIST as savior at age 16."
Ed served in the US Navy
