Shirley Mae (Plant) Hill, 77, died August 13, 2008 in New Brunswick, NJ. Born and raised in Worcester and Auburn, MA. Shirley was the daughter of Vernon Plant and Armenia Barton Plant, the granddaughter of George Alfred Plant and George Barton, all of Worcester. She met her husband Harold Hill at her Auburn home on Main St. and was married in 1951 at St. Joseph's Church, which is almost across the street. They moved to New Brunswick, where Shirley lived for many years before settling in Highland Park in 1971. Shirley was a homemaker and deeply devoted to all of her friends and family.

Predeceased by her son, Gerald Hill in 1996, she is survived by her daughter, Nancy Hill of California; her sons, Lewis Hill, and his wife Elaine, of Monroe Twp., James Hill of Princeton and David Hill of Delaware; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her brother Ralph G. Plant of Spencer in 1998. A service was held in the Chapel at Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester on Wednesday, November 5th, 2008 with burial the same day.
