Mrs. Arthur Dixon, living west of this city about nine miles near Black river on Trunk Line A, died at the farm home Friday, of blood poisoning due to infecton from scarlet fever. A few days previous she had been confined with child birth brought on prematurely. Owing to the fact that she was taken from a home under quarantine the funeral was private. Short services were held at the grave by Rev. Splies, Sunday evening. The story of this death is sad indeed. Six small children are left motherless and the home is under quarantine for scarlet fever, most of the children whom have had the disease, but the Record is pleased to state at this time that all are nearly over the effects of the ailment and are on the road to recovery and that the quarantine will soon be lifted from the home. Neighbors have done all in their power to aid the stricken family. Mrs. Jas. H. Ross has been in attendance on the family for some time back, and the mother of Mrs. Dixon arrived after her death and is also with the family. The Dixons came to the district west of us six or seven years ago and built a nice farm home near Black river. Other buildings, including a good barn were added to the property. The stricken husband, children and aged mother have the sympathy of all in this hour of bereavement.
