OBITUARY:
Hans Jensen died last Monday night at about 12:00 o'clock of old age and general debility, aged 76 years. He was born at Lolland, Denmark and came to the United States in 1874. After he came here, he worked for two years for Nis Thimsen and settled upon the farm on which he died. He was a member of the Danish Baptist Church. During the past three years he made his home with his son Martin Jensen and had good care. His wife died six or seven years ago. They had six children, all of whom died except one. He is survived by one son. The funeral took place Thursday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock from the house. The services were conducted by Rev. Robert Nelson. The remains were laid to rest in the Baptist Cemetery near the church. The deceased was a man who was well liked by his neighbors and minded his own business. He was a veteran of the war between Denmark and Germany in 1864 and recently received papers from Denmark entitling him to a pension, but passed away before he had filled them out. He has gone to his rest sincerely mourned.
