Mildred H. Ritchie, 77, of 240 Third St., Gladwin, died Saturday, March 2, in the Gladwin Area Hospital after a long illness. Born in Dickerson Run, Pa. Dec. 27, 1907 she came to Gladwin County in 1984 from Livonia. She retired in 1968 after 22 years as a teacher in the Detroit school system.
The former Mildred Haney, she: was married to William C. Ritchie in Detroit on Feb. 27, 1954. Besides her husband, she is; survived by one sister, Mrs. Gladys Rogers of Daytona Beach, Fla.; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. A step-son, William, preceded her in death in April 1972 and a twin sister, Margaret Brown, in May 1982.
Rites were held today (Wednesday) at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel. The Rev. Burton Kincaid officiated and burial was in the Highland Cemetery. Gladwin County Record dated 3-6/1985 Column – 3 Page – 2.
