Norman Young was born in East Brookfield, the son of Walter J Young and Jeannia M Derosier. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School and was a longtime sprinkler fitter operating out of Local 669, Sprinkler Fitters Union. He worked at Rockwood Sprinkler and several area companies for 20 years.

Norman married Rosemarie Dubee on Nov 26, 1949. They had four children: David Norman, Mark Walter, Marie Rose and Peter. At the time of his death, he also left eight grandchildren, one nephew and several nieces. Mr. Young had lived in Sutton for 27 years.

Mr.Young was a member of the Singletary Rod and Gun Club and a former member of Wattaquatick Foxhound Club, both in Oxford. He was a field judge for many years with the New England Foxhound Clubs and also an enthusiastic deep-sea fisherman.

Norman Young died at his home in Sutton on Oct 31, 1999, on his wife's birthday, after a year-long battle with cancer. His sister, Claire Young Fenner predeceased him in 1975.
