Lorene Whitman, 83, of Paris died Tuesday, May 18, 2004, in Charleston of natural causes. She was a retired librarian from the Paris High School and Logan County Library. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Paris, Business Womems Circle and an Adult Ladies Sunday School Teacher. She was preceded in death by husband, Houston C. Whitman, and parents the Rev James Riley and Fannie Man (Jones) Walker. Funeral service will be 2PM at First Baptist Church in Paris with burial at the Caulksville Cemetery. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Trusty of Paris and Erma Smith of Ft. Smith; four sons, Muriel White of Subiaco, Earl Whitman of Ozark, David Whitman of Paris and Mike Whitman of Paris; twin sister, Corene Butler of Paris; Brother, John Raymond Walker of Wichita, Kan; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, five step grandchildren and six stepgreat-grand children. Pallbearers: Muriel Whitman,, Earl Whitman, David Whitman, Mike Whitman, Frank Whitman, Michaell Whitman and Matthew Whitman. Honorary pallbearers: the Sunday school class and Greenhurst Nursing Home employees.
