CAMPBELL CUMMINGS
Campbell Cummings, son of Mrs. Kathrine Wiltse died at St. Joseph's Hospital, Dec. 27, after an illness of about six years. He had been failing rapidly for sometime and was taken to the hospital two months ago where the tenderest care and medical skill could not stay the hand of that dread disease, consumption.

The deceased was born in Vernon County, Wis. Aug. 23, 1859. His father, John Cummings, a relative of Gov. Cummings of Iowa and a veteran of the Civil War died in 1865. In 1870 he came to Chippewa Falls and has since resided with his mother in this city. Previous to his illness he was a woodsman, but for a number of years he has been unable to work on account of his health.

"Cummings" patience has elicited the praise of all who knew him, not one word of complaint was heard to pass his lips during his long illness, he was his mothers almost constant companion ever considering her welfare regardless of his own. Besides his twice widowed mother he leaves a brother and sister to mourn his loss. A brother accidently killed two years ago, a sister drowned on her way to school and his father have proceeded him to his final resting place.

The bereaved family in their affliction have the sympathy of a host of friends. The funeral was held from the home of his mother 326 w. Central St. at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday. Rev. Gilbert assisted by Rev. Brown of the Presbyterian church officiating.
