Hettie Schmidt, 60-year Resident Of Wichita, Dies

Mrs. Hettie Viola Schmidt, 84, of 319 N. Estelle, a resident of Wichita for 60 years, died Saturday at her home.

She was born Sept. 8, 1874, in Ripley County, Ind., and moved to Wichita in 1899 from Butler County, Kan. In August 1893 she was married to Otto Schmidt in Frontier County, Neb.

Mrs. Schmidt was a member of Wichita Bible Church.

Survivors inelude a brother, the Rev. T. E. Castor, 236 S. Fern; three sisters, Mrs. Lottie Barker, 1955 S. Sedgwick, Mrs. O. N. Ford, 930 Hiram, and Mrs. W. C. Blue, Protection, Kan.; four daughters, Miss Lillian Schmidt, Lincoln, Neb., Miss Lena Schmidt, of the home, Mrs. Vernon Minard, Potwin, Kan., and Mrs. Carl Hays, 2355 N. 161st East; three sons, Otto, of the home, Edward, El Dorado, Kan. and Monie, Towanda, Kan.; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Byrd-Snodgrass Funeral Home. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
