Mrs. Alice Brown
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. today at Newcomer-Diffenderfer Funeral Home for Mrs. Alice Rafter Brown, 75, 7220 Asbury Drive. She died Monday, Nov. 19 at a Topeka hospital.
Mrs. Brown was employed by the Federal Housing Authority many years before she retired in 1972.
she was born May 24, 1909, at Holton. She attended Washburn University and lived in Topeka 57 years.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Friends of the Topeka Public library, and Alpha Phi social sorority.
She was married to Shannon Brown Nov. 10, 1934. He died Feb. 17, 1970.
Survivors include a son, Shannon Brown, Stanford, Calif.; a daughter, Sarah E. Brown, Washington D.C.; a sister, Winnie Moore, Corpus Christi, Texas; and four grandchildren.
Cremation is planned. Inurnment will be in Holton Cemetery at Holton.
