She was born on August 8, 1935, at Mill Creek to the late John Elmer "Johnny" Blankenship (1910-Deceased) and Eva C. Miller-Adams-Blankenship (1894-1975). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenner Rufus Dancy (1930-1989) whom she married on May 9, 1950 in Brenton, Wyoming County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Wyoming County, WV, 1950, Page 338, Application Date: May 5, 1950); an infant son, Tennis Kenner Dancy (1978-1978); a brother, Calvin Henry Blankenship (1930-2001); two half brothers, Coy Adams (1916-Deceased) and Troy L. Adams (1912-1994); a half sister, Merlie Adams-Adkins (1919-Deceased); a grandson, Tennis Kenner Dancy (Deceased); and a great-granddaughter, Alyssa Nicole Bailey (Deceased).
Survivors include two sons, Larry Dancy & wife Vicki Dancy of Baileysville and Kenny Dancy & wife Debbie Dancy of Advance, NC; two daughters, Yvonne Dancy-Bailey & husband Larry Bailey of Brenton, and Deloris Dancy at home; grandchildren, Angie Cline & husband Darrell Cline of Brenton, Michael Bailey of Statesville, NC, Larrissa Roberts & husband Jeff Roberts of Princeton, Larry "Dee" Dancy of Princeton and Jay Dancy of Elkin, NC; great-grandchildren, Jarrod Cline, Jeffrey Cline, Tyler Dancy, Gavin Dancy, Kelsey Bailey, and Dameun Bailey; a sister, Dora "Kathleen" Blankenship-Hatfield-Acord (1932-2009); a half sister, Allie Adams-Sheline (1920-Deceased); a sister-in-law, Emma Jean Blankenship; and several nieces, nephews and close friends.
Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2006 at Calfee Funeral Service Chapel, Pineville, with the Revs. Ronald Adkins and Tommy Knotts officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny.
