GRUETLI-LAAGER - Brother William Howard Caldwell, 87, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2004.

He was a member of Bakers Chapel Cumberland Methodist Church where he served as pastor for over 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin B. and Ida Mae Caldwell; brothers, Chester, Roy and Robert "Poss" Caldwell; and sisters, Beatrice Pickett, Edna Taylor and Laura Ruehling.

He is survived by his wife, Ethelene Phipps Caldwell; son, Billy Caldwell, Coalmont, Tenn.; daughters, Linda Mainord, Gruetli-Laager, Tenn., Janice Turner, Chattanooga, and Marsha Campbell, Coalmont; brother, Herbert Caldwell, Coalmont; sister, Hazel Stotts, Coalmont; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. CST Saturday with ministers Jimmy Caldwell and John Shrum officiating.

Interment: Swiss Colony Cemetery.

Visitation: after 10 a.m. CST today at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tenn.
