Elijah Craig Stone was the son of Rev. Benjamin & Anna (Asbury) Stone, born Nov. 1775 in Culpeper, VA. He married Miriam Gassaway in 1793 in VA, she passed away in 1820. Elijah & Miriam had 6 children. Elijah married Mary Suddeth Dec . 12, 1822 in Harrison Co., OH. Elijah & Mary had 7 children. Elijah was the first pastor of Pine Run Baptist Church in Unionport, Wayne Twp., Jefferson, OH. His father Benjamin was a DAR Patriot and his mother Anna has a DAR chapter named after her. He was a relative of Thomas Stone who was one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, Capt. William Stone, Gov. of Maryland in 1648, John Hoskins Stone Gov. of Maryland and Michael Jenifer Stone in the U.S. House of Representatives.
