MRS. ELIZABETH SMITH, 88 years old, died at 6 a.m. Wednesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Moss (Martha) Adkins, of Hamlin, with whom she made her home. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Big Laurel Methodist Church with the Rev. W.T. Black, Rev. F.H. Black and Rev. Ebb Cummings officiating. Burial was in the Plumley Cemetery with the Johnson-Koontz Funeral Home in charge. Surviving besides Martha are two other daughters, Mrs. Jennie Lambert and Mrs. Sarah Honaker, both of Hager, WV; one son, George Smith of Hamlin; one step-son, Harvey Smith of Milton; 32 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. The body was removed to the Adkins residence at 6 p.m. Thursday from the Johnson-Koontz Funeral Home. Before coming to Hamlin to make her home, Mrs. Smith lived at Hager, this county, and possessed many friends who are grieved at her death.
