Although many presentations of Parker Adkins show him married twice...to Mary Lefon and Mary Ann ___ Willis, that presentation leaves 32 years of his life unaccounted for. In the document for Virginia Bounty Land and Pension Applicants which shows the final entry as 1887, he is presented with spouse/widow as Mary Ann and as having a first wife Jane. However, very clearly, his first wife was Mary. Additional documents are found in Cabell County for two additional marriages, almost certainly his. The reasoning for that is that he migrated from Franklin County, VA to Montgomery County, VA and is also said to have had children in Greenbrier County, Raleigh County and Lincoln County. These show a migration north and west. Cabell County and Lincoln County form a triangle with Charleston in Kanawha County. That triangle and the Putnam County area along the Kanawha River and Kanawha County areas along both the Kanawha and Elk Rivers is still the residences of many of his descendants today.
