George Boyd, 74, of Durant died March 13 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson after a lengthy illness. He was a member of Rice Chapel Methodist Church in Durant and the son of the late George and Fannie Boyd.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Lucille Boyd of Durant; three daughters, Mrs. Carrie Ward, Mrs. Mary Peeples, Mrs. Lucille Reed, all of Grand Rapids, Mich.; one son, Charlie Boyd of Durant; one sister, Mrs. Lillian Bean of Winona; 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Rev. L. T. Keys conducted services at Rice Chapel Methodist Church on Saturday, March 17 at 2:00 P.M. Burial was in Forrest Hill Cemetery with Lindsey Roberts & Sons Mortuary to charge.
