Julia was the youngest child of 6 born to Rigdon Bryant and Rachel (Dew) Walker. Julia was affectionately called "Jude" by her family and friends. The first summer after her family moved to Kremlin, OK, Julia rented a room in the Commercial Hotel in Enid. She was there, with her sister, Maud to attend Teachers Training School which was conducted each summer in the Central High School building.
She married Ernest Walter in 1901 and was the mother of 3 sons; Arthur Lyndell Walter, Ernest Worth Walter and William Walker Walter.
