Donald "Red Dog" Egbert, 83, of Rural Route 2 died at 8:58 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, at Heritage Manor South in Beardstown. Born Aug. 16, 1920, in Bainbridge Township, Schuyler County, to Emil and Bettie Ward Egbert, he married Mae Huston on Aug. 4, 1945, in Beardstown. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Donna (and Jerry) {Bartlett} of rural Frederick and Marcia (and Donnie) Gragg of rural Rushville; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother.
He was a lifelong Bainbridge Township farmer. He and his brother owned and operated E&E Sawmill for several years. He also served on the Schuyler County Board of Supervisors for many years and as Bainbridge Township supervisor. He was a former member of the Schuyler Coyote Hunters Association.
Services were entrusted to Worthington Funeral Home of Rushville, Illinois.
