John Choma, age 73, of Newark, DE passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at home surrounded by his loving family.
John was born in Wilmington, DE on December 8, 1934 to the late John and Stella (Kruzinski) Choma. John was an avid duck hunter who spent many of his trips with his sons from the famed Thousand Acre Marsh to the muddy ditches, oyster laden bottoms of Kelly's Island. He also enjoyed crabbing and Rock fishing on the Choptank River during family vacations. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and father-in-law. One of his proudest days on this earth was when he was appointed to the Wilmington Police Department on March 1, 1956. During his career, he was one of the first motorcycle sergeants of W.P.D.
John is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 53 years Carmella (Larotonda). He is also survived by his sons; John and his wife Nancy, Joseph, all of Lewes, DE., Michael and his wife Cindy, of Dagsboro, DE, his daughter Jeanine Graham of Newark, DE and his grandchildren; John Choma, Shelby and Ashley Graham and Zachary Choma.
