He enlisted in Morgantown, [W]Va. on Sept. 19, 1812, and was discharged at Fort Mingo, Ohio on March 13, 1813. He received two warrents for 80 acres each. His was married to Phebe A. Sidwell on July 25, 1813, by Jesse Evans, a justice at Oliphant Iron Works, Fayette Co., Pa.
