Unity – William Gerald, 82, well known retired farmer, died Saturday night, June 19, 1965, at a Waterville hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Canaan, August 6, 1882, the son of Dudley and Ella (Soule) Gerald.

He had lived most of his life on the Albion Road, was a 50-year member of the Albion Grange and a member of the Christian Church of Albion. He retired 15 years ago.

His wife, the former Mamie Murch, died six years ago.

He is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Thelma Cornforth of Unity, Mrs. Evelyn Webb of Reedsville, N.C., Mrs. Pearl Smith of Unity, Mrs. Mildred Crosby of Benton, Mrs. Doris Hall of Albion and Mrs. Helen Alexander of Unity; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Albion Christian Church. Burial will be in the Pond Cemetery in Unity.
