OAKDALE - Services for J.E. Perkins will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in West Baptist Church with Wilburn Perkins officiating. Burial will be in Cryer Cemetery under direction of Rush, Oakdale.

Perkins, 69, of Oakdale died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999, in his residence.

He was a lifelong resident of Oakdale and a member of West Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and served in the Korean and Vietnam wars.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Perkins of Oakdale; four sons, Jerry Dewayne Perkins of Texas City, Texas, James Mike Perkins of North Carolina, and Eddie Livingston and J.J. Perkins, both of Oakdale; three daughters, Darlene Durant, Deanna Strange and Mary West, all of Oakdale; four brothers, Louis Perkins, Wilburn Perkins and Charles Perkins, all of Oakdale, and Robert Perkins of Opelousas; three sisters, Annie Ruth Hall of Oakdale, Lavelle McFarland of Carlyss and Violet McShane of Silsbee, Texas; 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 8 a.m.-10 p.m. today in the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until time of services Tuesday in the church.
