Strange, 95, of Oakdale died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, in her residence.
She was a native of Pitkin, a lifelong resident of Oakdale and a homemaker. She was the oldest charter member of Trinity Baptist Church and was the daughter of the founding father of Oakdale, William Thomas Dunn.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Houston H. Humphries and Russell Strother and one daughter, Genevieve Dyer.
Survivors include two sons, Billy Joe Humphries of LeBlanc and Donald Ray Humphries of Forest Hill; four daughters, Mary Belle Dyer and Doris Mae Stermer, both of Oakdale, Bobbie Jean Priddy of Cary, Miss., and Pasty Ruth Tilley of Fuquay-Varina, N.C.; one sister, Maggie Summerhill of Pineville and 36 grandchildren, 78 great-grandchildren and 54 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Nick Brabham, Dwayne Tilley, Roy Dunn, Robert Humphries, Tommy Dyer, and James Perry.
Friends may call from 8 a.m.-10 p.m. today in the funeral home and from 8 a.m. until time of services Monday in the church.
