Clarence Cox, 92, of East Moline died Wednesday at United Medical Center, Moline.
Services are 11 am Saturday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Burial is in Hampton Cemetery.
Mr Cox was born March 24, 1898 in Metropolis, Illinois. He married Dorothy M. Phelps, Dec 24 1920 in Rock Island. She died in October 1965.
He was employed at the former John Deere Spreader Works, Moline, for 17 years, retiring in 1963. He was a member of United Auto Workers, Local 79, East Moline.
Survivors include daughers, Betty Marks, Sebring, Fla., Jo Anne Chaney, East Moline, and Ruth Webb, Silvis; sons, Robert L. Cox, East Moline, Donald E. Cox, Rock Island, and Raymond P. Cox, Moline; 17 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and a sister Mendoza Kilpatrick, Metropolis.
His brother Cleo Cox (6 Jan 1893-25 Jul 1975) is buried in Rock Island National Cemetery, findagrave #2885885.
