Joe Darwin Bohannon, 67, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 24, 2007. Funeral services were conducted Dec. 28 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Hank Jones officiating. Interment was in Eastland Cemetery in Eastland, TN, with full military honors provided by the Veterans Honor Guard.

Mr. Bohannon was born Sept. 27, 1940, in Clifty, the son of George Bohannon and Marie (Stewart) Bohannon. He was retired from Midstate Medical Equipment Co. and was a member of Cumberland Fellowship Baptist Church. He served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife, Gwynne (Phillips) Bohannon of Crossville; daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Jimmy Stephens of Jamestown; son and daughter-in-law, Al and Tonya Bohannon of Mt. Juliet; mother, Marie (Stewart) Bohannon; sisters, Pat Dayton of Woodbury and Gail Green of Crossville; brothers, Mike Bohannon of Morristown and J. C. Bohannon of Crossville; and grandson, Hunter Stephens of Jamestown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Henry Clark Bohannon.

Pallbearers were Lynn Lewis, Joe Bohannon, Bill Cannon, Jeff Dayton, Jim Frazier, Jim Dayton, Jason Sitton, Dakota Logan and Barry Lewis. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Lewis, Tom Conway, Paul Caruthers, Lawrence Bohannon, Bobby Dayton, Mike Stump, Roger Upchurch, George Grover, O.C. Stewart, Jim Stewart and Johnny Yancey. Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
