William Thomas Guffin married his first cousin, Nancy Lewis, on the 21st of October, 1838. The ceremony was solemnized by Elder John P. Thompson. They received as a wedding gift a farm in Huntington, Indiana, purchased by William's father, Andrew Guffin, at 10 cents an acre, from the Fort Wayne Land Grant.
