MASSENA-Funeral services for Mrs. Odena L. Flynn, 54, Rt. 3 (Cook Street Road), Massena, were held at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Church, Rev. Alfred Fish officiating. Calling hours were held at the Phillips Memorial Home Sunday afternoon and evening. Burial was made in Calvary Cemetery.
Mrs. Flynn died 1:35 a.m. Saturday (July 25, 1981) at Massena Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient since June 30.
Surviving are her husband, Richard; six sons, Richard, Stephen, Paul and Kevin, all of Massena, and Michael and Christopher, at home; one daughter, Mrs. Roger (Sandy) Coughlin, Norwich, Conn.; four sisters, Mrs. Bernard (Irene) Sanborn, Massena, Mrs. Thomas (Margaret) Steen of Bombay, Sister Mary Stephen, Massena, of the St. Mary's Order, and Mrs. Clark (June) LaShomb, Norfolk; eight brothers, Ralph Durant, Nicholville, Edward, James and Harold Durant of Massena, Donald and Hubert Durant of Bombay, and Howard and Lloyd Durant of Syracuse; ten grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. A brother, Bernard, died in May of 1981.
Mrs. Flynn was born in Massena Aug. 11, 1926, daughter of Ernest and Elizabeth Kirkey Durant. She was married to Richard Flynn on Dec. 30, 1946 at St. Joseph's church in Bombay, Rev. Collins officiating.
